Renowned Photographer, Entrepreneur Salim Pushpanath Passes Away

Thiruvananthapuram: Renowned travel and wildlife photographer and entrepreneur Salim Pushpanath, 49, passed away at his resort, Anavilasam at Kumily in Idukki on Tuesday. According to reports, Pushpanath collapsed after suffering a cardiac arrest at the plantation resort owned by him.

Pushpanath is the son of famous Malayalam detective novelist Kottayam Pushpanath. Though he was rushed to a hospital in Kattappana, it is learned that he was declared brought dead. The funeral will take place at St. Peter’s Church, Karukachal at 3 pm on April 12.

Salim entered business at a very young age and went on to excel as an entrepreneur, wildlife and travel photographer and publisher. He founded Dee Been Info Publications, which brought out  illustrated books related to tourism.

Being an established and passionate photographer, Salim was contracted by many reputed establishments for corporate projects. He has also published more than 16 books, including ‘Unseen Kerala’, ‘Romancing Kerala’, ‘South India’, ‘Flavours of Kerala’, ‘Syrian Christian Favourites’, ‘Flavours of the Raj’, ‘Yoga’, ‘Indian Spices’, ‘Indian Herbs’, ‘Ayurveda’ and others.

Anavilasam Luxury Plantation House was one of his last ventures.
