Seek Ways to Co-exist, Businesses in Kerala Told at Vijayee Bhava Event

Kochi: Philanthropist and industrialist Kochouseph Chittilappilly, addressing the third edition of ‘Vijayee Bhava Alumni Business Summit’, highlighted the need for businesses to co-exist and promote Kerala’s entrepreneurial ecosystem. The Founder-chairman of V-Guard Industries Ltd. said that entrepreneurial development platforms like Vijayee Bhava should help promote business of its members.

Vijayee Bhava (VB) is an entrepreneurship development initiative by K Chittilappilly Foundation. The event was organised in association with Varma and Varma Chartered Accountants and management training firm ‘Winner in You’.

Beena Kannan, CEO, Seematti; Sabu M Jacob, Chairman and MD, Kitex Garments; Vijay Kapoor, Founder CEO, Derby Jeans Community; Chackochen Mathai, Founder & CEO, Franchising Rightway; and Kiran Varghese, Director, Pittappillil Agencies were among the key speakers.

“Being a member of VB, you have already started the mission to achieve success. Keep moving up; here you have good training classes where new ideas are shared, so all you need to do is keep going with the team,” said Beena Kannan. She was presented with the VBA Inspiration Award by Kochouseph Chittilappilly.

Vijay Kapoor revealed plans to open more franchise stores by giving business opportunities to first generation businessmen.

On the occasion, Sabu M Jacob said practical knowledge needs to be cultivated rather than focusing on the theory part to achieve success in business. “It was at the age of thirteen that I entered business. My qualification is my experience,” he said.

The main aim of the summit was rediscovering business models through panel discussions and interactions between industry experts and other entrepreneurs. The event saw the participation of over 300 delegates from across the State.

Shamim Rafeek, Founder and .CEO, Winner In You; V Sathyanarayanan, Senior Partner, Varma & Varma; Shihabudheen P K, President, VB and Nishim Ahammed Kassim, Vice-President also attended the inaugural session.

Tiny Philip, Founder & CEO, Results Consulting Group spoke on ‘Contrarian Approach to Business’ while K P Raveendran, MD, Malabar Furniture Consortium Pvt. Ltd. discussed the term ‘Co-opetition’, which stands for cooperative competition.

VB Excellence Awards were presented to entrepreneurs who excelled in different categories of business. Cinu P Thomas, past President, VB and Noushad M K, Programme Director received leadership awards for excellence in organising and networking. VB holds monthly training sessions for budding entrepreneurs and annual business summits, ensuring interaction between Vijayee Bhava alumni and successful entrepreneurs.
