Muthukad’s ‘Safe Childhood’ Gets UN Support

Geneva: ‘Safe Childhood’, a project to ensure the protection of children created by magician Gopinath Muthukad, has received the support of the United Nations. Muthukad, who is also a celebrity supporter of UNICEF, plans to implement the ‘Safe Childhood’ project in countries on all continents.

Muthukad reached Geneva following an invitation from United Nations’ Permanent Mission for India. During the visit, he met India’s permanent representative and ambassador, Rajiv Kumar Chander. The ambassador offered all support to Muthukad for the implementation of his ‘Safe Childhood’ project.

The main focus of Muthukad’s project is to stop atrocities against children across the world. The project will deal with issues like child labour, child abuse, malnutrition in children, literacy, infant mortality, parenthood, mental health in children and cyber safety. Muthukad also attended a performance by prominent magician and shadow puppeteer from Karnataka Prahlad Acharya.
