Ninth Annual Convocation Ceremony of Asian School of Business (ASB) Held

Thiruvananthapuram : The Ninth Annual Convocation of the Asian School of Business (ASB), Thiruvananthapuram was held here the other day. Delivering the convocation address, Anthony Thomas (Tony), Group CIO, GE Global stressed the importance of personal characteristics like compassion, empathy, courage to do right things and confidence, in building successful lives and careers.

“The world is changing and we are in a mode of learning on a daily basis. In a changing world, many of the jobs existing today will not be there 25 years from now. That means one has to keep oneself ahead of ‘what is going on’. A technology or process which is being carried out today may not exist in the near future. A course which the student undergo may not be even relevant on completion on that course, that is the pace at which the technology changes. Hence the students need to be well equipped with the qualification and competence to face the ever changing trend in technology,” he said, referring to how 3D printing technology is changing the manufacturing industry.

The event was presided over by George M. Thomas, the Chairman of the ASB Governing Board. He also delivered the presidential address and awarded the diplomas. The institute Director, Dr. Aby K. Abraham presented the Director’s Report on the occasion; Isaac Varghese, Director, MDP and Consulting, Rajagiri Business School was also present.

The event was the culmination of a fruitful two-year journey for the students of the Post Graduate Diploma in Management. It was a moment of celebration and happiness for all. Academic excellence certificates were awarded to the meritorious students who exhibited remarkable performance during the 2 year programme. The overall excellence certificate was awarded to Priyanka Nair, who secured the highest CGPA in  the programme.
