Majestic Bentleys Charm Kochi’s Who’s Who


Kochi: The British Deputy High Commission in Chennai and Bentley Motors, India hosted an exclusive networking event here recently to showcase the iconic British auto brand’s exclusive range of cars. Guests comprising those from the world of business, HNWIs and members of the entertainment world attended the event.

“In terms of investments and job creation in the UK, India is only second to the US. So, India is very important from that perspective. The largest number of foreigners visiting Kerala comes from the UK. So, Kerala is a key partner for us too”, said Bharat Joshi, British Deputy High Commissioner, on the sidelines of the event. Some of the fastest luxury cars in the world were on display, including the beautiful sedan, Bentley Flying Spur, which is the fastest sedan in the world; the SUV, Bentley GT Continental, and the award-winning four-seater coupe, Bentley Bentayga.

Fifteen-odd Bentleys have been sold so far in Kerala. The most die-hard loyalist of the Bentley in Kerala is Nippon Toyota owner Babu Moopen who picked up a Bentley Mulsan (extended wheel base) limousine recently. The iconic brand which 100 per cent handcrafts just over 11,000 pieces a year at its factory in the UK, has to date sold about 500 across India. Currently there are only two showroom (New Delhi and Mumbai) but soon Hyderabad will have a showroom to cater more effectively to the growing south Indian market.

“Bentley is not only the ultimate in luxury but is also the best in fast luxury cars. We make self-drive cars and this is a big differentiator for us when compared to our competitors”, says Amit Agarwal, Head of Sales, Bentley India. Bentleys are customised to suit the individual tastes and preferences of luxury customers around the world.
