Geojit BNP Paribas Becomes Geojit Financial Services

Kochi: Geojit, one of the leading financial services intermediaries, has formally changed its name and unveiled a new logo as part of its rebranding exercise that also coincided with the completion of the firm’s 30 years of operations.

The company has been renamed Geojit Financial Services in line with the restated shareholder agreement between Geojit and BNP Paribas. The French multinational bank will continue to be a prominent shareholder along with C J George, the company’s Founder and MD, Kerala State Industrial Development Corporation (KSIDC) and ace investor Rakesh Jhunjhunwala.

Geojit’s first client, K K R Verma, unveiled the new logo in Kochi recently in the presence of C J George and other senior officials, including Satish Menon, ED and A Balakrishnan, MD, Geojit Technologies Ltd. The new brand identity was also formally launched in a function held at the Taj Mahal Hotel, Mumbai earlier by Geojit chairman A P Kurien. Geojit has now 511 offices spread across India and the Gulf countries, catering to over nine lakh clients and has an AUM (Assets Under Management) worth Rs. 29,000 crore.

Speaking on the occasion, George said the new brand identity continues to be a reflection of what Geojit stands for – trust, transparency and technology. “We are targeting acquiring 2 million customers in the next 5 years. We believe that foreseeing changes and successfully adapting to them are key to our success. Geojit, in the past 30 years, has adopted strategies that have ultimately benefitted our clients.” According to George, Geojit will soon be launching new divisions for wealth management and financial planning. “In addition to these, in the digital space we are working on upgrading our trading app and mobile app with new trading tools and content enhancement features,” he said.

Explaining the logo rationale, Vipin Nadakkal, VP, Marketing said, “The spherical shape formed by the letter ‘G’ represents the globe, while the arrow-shaped end symbolizes growth in investments. The soft design used to create the globe denotes knowledge, presence and investments. The powerful logo rests on a background of teal green which stands for wealth & financial stability.”
