FISAT to Organise International Space Olympiad

Kochi: Federal Institute of Science and Technology (FISAT) at Angamaly near here is organising an International Space Olympiad on January 27 and 28 at FISAT auditorium.

International Space Olympiad will open a door to the world of limitless knowledge about space and space explorations for the students. FISAT is organising the event in collaboration with ISRO, Indian Institute of Science, Indian Institute of Astrophysics, TATA Institute of Fundamental Research, Raman Research Institute, Cochin University of Science and Technology, and Centre for Astronomy and Astrophysics.

The event meant for students from Class 8 to 12 is aimed at encouraging these young talented minds with amazing prizes worth Rs.10 lakh. The event consists of lectures by international experts, telescope making, space quiz, sky watch, space walk, science games and making of science equipment etc.

The winners of this Space Olympiad will get an opportunity for scholarships and invitation to do research at FISAT Science and Technology Park. It will provide an opportunity to the students to display their hidden talents and thereby a chance to explore new possibilities in the field of astronomy. Students themselves or in group or by school can register for this two-day programme.

At the end of the event, the most talented participants will be given the Young Scientist Award.
