Loyola Old Boys’ Association Awards Presented to S R K Nair, K S Sabarinathan

Thiruvananthapuram: Air Marshal S R K Nair and K S Sabarinathan MLA were presented with the Loyola Old Boys’ Association (LOBA) Global Leadership Award and Young Achiever Award respectively at a function organised at the Golf Club here the other day.

S Joseph, a non-teaching staff member who completed 50 years of service at Loyola School, was also honoured at the function.

Fr. M K George, Superior, Kerala Jesuits Provincial presented the Global Leadership Award to Air Marshal Nair, while the first Young Achiever’s Award was presented to Sabarinathan by Fr. Devassy Paul, Principal,  Loyola School. LOBA launched its Annual Global Leadership Award (GLA) last year. The award, a first among schools in India, has now entered its second year.

Receiving the Global Leadership Award, Air Marshal Nair said, wherever we are or whatever we become, the feel of camaraderie and networking bring joy to our lives. Such venues where you get to renew friendships and camaraderie have become a must.

‘’The efforts of LOBA to implement a medical insurance scheme for Loyola School members and the pension scheme announced for non-teaching staff of the school are examples of the leadership qualities the LOBA members. I feel proud of being part of such noble efforts,” he said.

Air Marshal Nair also handed over an amount towards the welfare activities of LOBA at the function.

Sabarinathan, who received the Young Achiever’s Award, said the Loyola School has been instrumental in developing the best qualities in him. Reminiscing his Loyola days, Sabarinathan added that the values that Loyola School imparted have helped in shaping his life.

Former students Paul Antony IAS, Ravi Sankar, Pradeep Kumar, Sunil Samuel Varghese and others were also present.

The Loyola Old Boys’ Association (LOBA) has s a membership of over 4000.
