Offsite Manufacturing Park Inaugurated

Bengaluru: KEF Infra, a subsidiary of Dubai-based KEF Holdings, launched ‘KEF Infra One Industrial Park’ at Krishnagiri in Tamil Nadu the other day.

Set up with an investment of Rs. 650 crore in an area of one million sq. ft., the offsite manufacturing park will produce prefabricated building components such as beams, walls, staircases, windows, doors, columns, etc. that can be shipped to the construction sites.

Offsite manufacturing comes with three advantages of speed, lower costs and higher precision as components are manufactured on an assembly line. Since structures are tested for seismic conditions, they are stronger,’’ said Sumesh Sachar, CEO, KEF Infra.

Faizal E Kottikollon, Chairman, KEF Holdings said the country was on the cusp of growth and KEF aims at fast-forwarding the progress.

KEF Infra has already been involved in several projects, including the construction of the new Infosys office building at Electronics City Phase II and a clock tower on its Mysore campus, set to be the world’s tallest clock tower (built using offsite technology).
