TRIMA 2016 Gets Underway; TMA-HLL CSR Award Presented


Thiruvananthapuram: TRIMA 2016, the annual management convention of Trivandrum Management Association (TMA), began at Vivanta by Taj here the other day.

Paul Antony IAS, Additional Chief Secretary, Department of Industries, inaugurated the convention, which has ‘Towards a Faster, Smarter and Cleaner Kerala’ as its central theme. Pinarayi Vijayan, Kerala Chief Minister, will inaugurate the valedictory function on December 9.

Sobha Limited bagged this year’s TMA-HLL CSR award. Ramakrishnan P, Deputy MD, Sobha Limited, received the award from Paul Antony on the occasion. The TMA-HLL CSR award was constituted in 2012 with the objective of honouring a limited Company which has carried out noteworthy Corporate Social Responsibility projects during a financial year. The award is to propagate the message that large companies ought to do a lot more than offering employment and providing products or services. The award carries a citation and a plaque.

Dr. M I Sahadulla, Chairman, TRIMA Committee and CMD, KIMS; S Ramnath, President, TMA and CEO, Leela Inforpark; Prasad Unnikrishnan, Director, KPMG Advisory Services and G Unnikrishnan, Hon. Secretary, TMA and Deputy GM, KSIDC attended.

More than 500 delegates are taking part in the convention which will witness the convergence of industry leaders, decision makers, professionals and policy-makers, according to Dr. M I Sahadulla.

“The flagship event of TMA proposes to dwell on how Kerala can leverage Digital India, Ease of Doing Business and Swachch Bharat initiatives of the Union Government,” Ramnath said.

An affiliate of All Indian Management Association (AIMA), TMA was established in 1985. It has 325 individual members, 30 corporate members and 20 student members. Besides organising TRIMA, TMA presents the prestigious Management Leadership Award every year to an individual who has shown exceptional leadership qualities in the field of management in Kerala.

TMA aims to promote professionalism in business management through management education, industrial training, exchange of knowledge, sharing of experience and innovative ideas using sound management principles.
