Kochi: Amrita Samyogam 2017, an international conference on integrative ayurveda and modern medicine organised by Amrita School of Ayurveda in association with Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences (AIMS), will be held on August 6 and 7.

The conference to be held at AIMS here is an attempt to bring together Allopathic and Ayurvedic practitioners as well as modern scientists together on a common platform. The conference will be attended by about 60 resource persons from across the world and 1,000 delegates.

The major goal of the conference is to identify areas and strategies for collaborative integration of allopathy and ayurveda in the management of specific diseases. This is expected to be achieved by evidence-based practice guidelines for cross referrals and combination therapy, including well-designed rigorous clinical trials to validate clearly spelt out guidelines for mutual cross referrals as well as combination therapy in specific diseases.

The conference will have a special focus on Cancer, Diabetes, Rheumatology, Neurodegenerative Diseases and Mental Health.
