Kerala Takes Part at TTF Kolkata in ‘Feature States’ Category

Kochi: The three-day Travel and Tourism Fair (TTF) Kolkata, one of the leading travel trade shows in the country, which concluded the other day, showcased 400 sellers from 24 states and 13 countries. Kerala participated in the TTF as ‘Feature States’ along with Rajasthan, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Jammu and Kashmir, Assam, Andaman and Nicobar, Delhi and Jharkhand.

Representatives of hotels and tour operators from the State showcased their offerings and products at the Kerala pavilion. The biggest state pavilion was that of host state West Bengal. Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Goa, Maharashtra, Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh were the ‘Partner States’. There are also large number of participants from Haryana, Odisha, Punjab, Puducherry, Tamil Nadu, Telangana and Uttar Pradesh.

With consistent support of the tourism departments of the host state as well as other states, Union Tourism Ministry, National Tourism Organisations of several countries, private exhibitors and trade associations, TTF Kolkata continues to be one of the biggest platforms providing opportunities for the buyers and sellers from across the country to showcase their latest offerings and build long-term business ties. Manish Jain IAS, Tourism Secretary, West Bengal said the event registered a growth of 10 per cent in terms of the number of participants and revenue generated compared to last year.

Other than several states in the country, six foreign countries had also set up pavilions at TTF Kolkata under the aegis of their respective National Tourism Organisations. Sri Lanka Tourism had participated for the first time. Other participant countries included Bangladesh, China, Macao, Nepal and Thailand. In addition to this, participation of private sector players from Bhutan, Canada, Japan, Myanmar, the UAE and the USA added sheen to the TTF this year.
