Sastra Robotics team receiving the TiE50 Award from Silicon Valley

Kochi: Kerala-based startup Sastra Robotics India Pvt. Ltd. has won the prestigious TiE50 Award from Silicon Valley.

Sastra is a 17-member team focused on industrial robotic manipulators and smart robots. Companies like BOSCH, HCL and Audience are using robotic arms produced by Sastra to automate human-machine interface (HMI) panels testing in smart devices.

Incubated at the Startup Village in 2012, Sastra was selected as one of the most promising startups of the year. Their first big win came when German company Robert Bosch decided to procure their industrial standard robotic arm. In 2016, the Kerala Government identified Sastra as one of the six most promising startups in the State, with the team receiving felicitations from Oommen Chandy, the then Chief Minister. TIE Bangalore, a non-profit organization, which promotes global entrepreneurship, selected Sastra as one of the Top 10 Most Promising Early Stage Start-ups.

TiE50 is TiE Silicon Valley’s premier annual awards programme keenly contested by thousands of early-stage technology startups worldwide. It recognise world’s most enterprising technology startups. Awards are announced at TiEcon2017, the world’s largest conference for entrepreneurs.
