Kozhikode: Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) organised a Malabar IT Conclave here the other day.

The objective of the conclave was to discuss development of IT and IT Infrastructure facilities in North Malabar and to bring together major companies to invest in North Malabar to make it a major IT destination.

Technocrats and industry leaders who attended the conclave called for building strong infrastructure, bettering regional connectivity and raising the profile of Kozhikode to make Malabar the next IT destination in the State.

Speaking at the conclave, V K Mathews, Executive Chairman, IBS Software Services, said that Kozhikode should brand itself. Kozhikode could be part of the digital revolution only if the State Government provided support for the growth of IT companies.

Taking part in the deliberations, Hrishikesh Nair, CEO, IT Parks suggested that Kozhikode could focus on the Internet of Things (IoT). The IT industry looked promising in Kerala in spite of several negative factors such as Brexit and visa policies in the U.S., he added.
