Social Entrepreneurs Receive Invaluable Learning, Connects

Kochi: Unconvention|Kochi, the annual congregation of social startups and entrepreneurs, organised by social enterprise incubator Villgro, was held at Hotel Crowne Plaza on March 18.

A business plan competition was conducted for social entrepreneurs as part of the event, which provided an opportunity for the youngsters to listen to the inspiring stories of fellow social entrepreneurs and understand their journey, learn from experts on various topics that would help build a business, and connect with a network of opportunities, resources and people.

The participants were allotted one minute each to make a presentation about their company. Srikanth Viswanathan and Aravind Shivadas of Test Bridge bagged the prize money of Rs. 3 lakh sponsored by Federal Bank. Shalini Warrier, COO, Federal Bank announced the winners and gave away the prize money.

Speaking on the occasion, Shalini Warrier explained in detail about the CSR activities of the Bank and its approach towards young, budding entrepreneurs. For entrepreneurs building a business with social impact, the event is a unique platform that gives access to experienced leaders and ideas in the sector, as well as access to Villgro’s pioneering incubation programme.

Ltd.; Jithesh P V, Chief Manager-Digital Centre of Excellence, Federal Bank and Ullas Marar, Head – Scouting and Inspiration, Villgro spoke at the event.
