SBT Conducts Digital Economy Presentation at Rajbhavan

Thiruvananthapuram: State Bank of Travancore  (SBT) conducted a presentation on ‘Digital Economy’ before Justice P Sathasivam, the Governor of Kerala at Rajbhavan  here the other day.

Also present on the occasion was Davendra Kumar Dhodawat IAS, Secretary to the Governor and the entire staff of Rajbhavan Secretariat. SBT was represented by M Devi Prasad, General Manager (Retail Network I); Ramaswamy R, Deputy General Manager and Lekshmi Radhakrishnan, Gopal U and Gopakumar K G, all Assistant General Managers.

The session included a presentation on various modes of Cashless transactions, a video show and a live demonstration of State Bank Buddy Wallet system.

The session was organised as part of SBT’s campaign to create awareness about Digital Banking in the wake of demonetisation. The session touched upon various issues such as how the general public and businesses can make use of Internet Banking, Mobile Banking, UPI, USSD, Credit/Debit Cards, PoS machines and Wallets to conduct cashless transactions. Advantages and safety aspects were outlined in detail. The session also elaborated on how Online and Card-related frauds can be mitigated using Internet Banking.

The Governor appreciated the effort and raised queries, and gave suggestions on a Cashless model for all financial transactions in Rajbhavan for which the Bank officials  assured their entire support.
